Case: Läckö-Kinnekulle
Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle is located in Skaraborg between Sweden’s two largest lakes, Vänern and Vättern. There is plenty of beautiful nature in the area, especially for those who cycle, hike or paddle. The destination Läckö-Kinnekulle wanted to let tourists explore the fascinating landscape with an app that offered something for those who want to walk, cycle, drive and even paddle!
Challenge
Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle wanted an app that could offer added value for visitors to the area. based on their own market research they knew what features they were looking for and therefore chose OnSpotStory.
They wanted to be able to build on the app with several tours and to offer something for walkers as well as for those traveling by car. They also liked the simple and functional design of OnSpotStory’s apps. They also used an in-app event calendar that syncs with their web calendar.
Solution
Since Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle knew what they wanted from the start, the app got up and running quickly and a first version was released within a few weeks, just in time for the summer season. They then built on content as they went along, including the ‘wreck safari’ tour, a kayak tour where you can learn about all the abandoned and listed wrecks in the area.
The event calendar was built and added to the app, a great way to inform visitors about what’s happening in the area. OnSpotStory created a feature to regularly update and sync the in-app calendar from their own API. Smooth and seamless.
We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from guests who like the concept of being able to choose activities when and where it suits them.
