What to say and how to say it?

What story do you want to tell and who do you want to reach? What defines a good speaker? How to market a guide once it’s finished? A fruitful seminar about content today, exchanging ideas and experiences with Järfälla kommun, Solna stad and Stockholms läns museum. This question was our point of departure, found in the Europeana Impact Playbook: In an age in which we are overloaded with information but craving for meaning, how do we engage and activate people (with culture)? And we’re live!

We presented Museum.link today, and discussed museum databases with Stockholms läns museum and Dansmuseet. And we were live!

Recording with Historiska

We did a recording today at the lovely Lexter studios, together with Historiska museet's Li and Anna. Check out the exhibition 100% Fight - A History of Sweden and the accompanying audio guides - it’s on until Dec. 2018.

From Eskilstuna with love

Took a trip to Eskilstuna today for a conference on digitilisation in the culture sector, hosted by STUA. Lots of friendly people around, like Åsa, who showed us her place of work, Stadsmuseet. Did you know the first steam engine (in Sweden) was made in Eskilstuna? It goes by the name of Förstingen.

Not a place for the claustrophobic…

We held a seminar in Karlskrona today. Took the opportunity to visit Marin museum, a pretty cool place where you can go inside a real submarine. Not a place for claustrophobic or private types down there…

It all comes together…

Making an audio guide has many components to it, from the nitty-gritty techy side of things, to the human beings and the stories they want to tell about a specific place or object. Who we meet with and talk to has truly shaped OnSpotStory. That's why in 2018 we decided to start a bitesize vlog/blog, introducing the people we meet and the places we've been. For us to remember and to share with you how it all comes together.
